1 CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND CLASSES
1.1 Title Guernsey Gold Cup
1.1.1 The Organising Committee of Guernsey Powerboat Association LBG (GPA) under the sanction of UKOPRA are organising one championship round for the 2019 race season.
1.1.2 The event is approved and sanctioned by UKOPRA.
1.1.3 The races will be run under the UKOPRA rules as applicable for 2019 by the Organising and/or Race Committee in the Race Instructions, Race Briefings and Race Bulletins, together with such other rules and amendments as may be issued by the Authorities as and when applicable.
1.2.1 The Classes eligible for the titled races are Class 3 and Offshore 1&2. A boat may not enter more than one Championship at the event. There will also be the opportunity to run class 4 historic at the event, please contact race organiser for further details.
1.3 Date and Place of the Event
1.3.1 The event will be run during the period 4th to 8th July 2019 inclusive, from St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands.
1.3.2 Race Control, Administration and Scrutineering will take place at or around the Guernsey Yacht Club, Castle Emplacement, St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands, GY1 1AU
1.3.3 The Organising Committee reserves the right to amend or modify the programme of events for whatever reason they deem necessary.

Registration, Signing in, Administration and documentation at Race Control, Castle Emplacement, for the Race 08.00 – 16.30hrs.
Crane launch 7.30am – 11.30am
Fuelling available 08.00 – 16.30hrs.
Tide Timetables – Friday 5th July
Official Practice (All Classes) 09.00 – 11.00hrs.
Scrutineering for Race 11.30 – 16.30hrs.
Mandatory Race and Weather briefing 16.00hrs to 17.30hrs marquee alongside GYC.
Mandatory welcome Vin D’Honneur for all competitors – venue Terrace Cafe, St Peter Port – 18.30hrs – dress code – smart/casual
3.2 SATURDAY 6th July tide timetable

Champagne will be presented at the end of the race on a podium along the castle walkway above the bunker.

4 RACE COURSES
4.1.1 Admiralty Chart No. 808 is the only chart acceptable for the UKOPRA Race.
4.1.2 The approximate race distances will be as follows
Class 3 Approximately 70nm
Offshore Classes approximately 120nm
5.1.1 Unleaded fuel will be available at BOATWORKS+ at the Castle Emplacement. This will NOT include 97 octane fuel, 97 will be available in the QE2 marina when launching upon request. Fuelling at Boatworks+ may take place on land or on the water. Fuelling times are as per section 3. Transference of fuel in the pits is strictly forbidden. A fuel card will be distributed to teams on arrival for discounted fuel purchases.
5.1.2 It will not be permitted to store fuel in the Pits.
5.1.3 Boats are required to travel empty of fuel to Guernsey and a common fuel supplier will be used for all boats in an effort to maintain equal opportunity for all competitors.
6.1.1 All race boat occupants must wear a life-jacket, crash helmet and carry all necessary safety equipment on board as required by the UKOPRA rules, during any official practice.
6.1.2 Before practising, competitors must have fully completed Race Administration and notified Race Control. Competitors must sign on and off at Race Control. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from any of the races.
6.1.3 Boats are responsible their own Insurance outside of any official practise or race period.
7 TRANSPORTATION FACILITIES
7.1.1 Fares will be applicable for travel between Thursday 4th July and Monday 8th July only.

8 ENTRY FEE
8.1.1 The Official Entry form can be found here https://www.guernseypowerboatassociation.club/2019-guernsey-gold-cup-entry-form/.

8.1.2 Entry fees of £250.00 Class 3 GBP £650.00 Offshore 1 & 2 (Marathon).

8.1.3 The closing date for entries is the 31st May 2019 however we need to know if you are entering by 10th May. Entries received after 31st May 2019 shall be defined as a late entry which may be accepted at the discretion of the Organising Committee. The fee for Late Entries will be GBP TBC for all entries including overseas.
8.1.4 If any entry is cancelled in writing by 31st May 2019, the deposit will be refunded
8.1.5 The Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel the event or any part thereof for any reason including if insufficient entries are received.
8.1.6 Boats must be seaworthy for all possible conditions and the Organising and/or Race Committee may refuse craft, which, in their opinion, are unsuitable.
8.1.7 Competitors in the offshore classes 1&2 must have two individuals qualified in first aid aboard.
8.1.8 Competitors competing in offshore classes 1&2 must have two individuals qualified in sea survival aboard.
8.1.9 The No 1 Driver/Competitor and his/her nationality must be named on the entry form.
8.1.10 All canopied boats require competitors to provide proof of an up to date immersion test
8.1.11 All race craft must be registered with UKOPRA.
8.1.12 The Organising Committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without giving any reason.
8.1.13 All visitors to the Bailiwick of Guernsey are advised to take out full travel insurance to cover the cost of any medical treatment they may require and repatriation costs. Guernsey is outside of the UK National Health Service (NHS) and the European Health Insurance Card (E.H.I.C) is not valid in the Bailiwick. Visitors from the United Kingdom and other Non-Reciprocal Countries will have to pay a fee for all medical services, including primary care, hospital accommodation, radiology, pathology, pharmacy and physiotherapy.
